I am...

I am a baby girl born to two teenagers on December 24 the who, thankfully had the brains to give me up to 2 lovely people.

I am the toddler whose only memories from preschool invlove boys chasing me & a big kid breaking my pinky with a tinker toy.

I am the school girl who bit her tongue doing a flip on the bar over the slide, causing the school nurse to freak out, me getting 4 stitches & no more old playground. Sorry & you are welcome all at the same time, because the new playground was much cooler!

I am the teenager who was shall we say rebellious, sure why not! More like her genetic parents than her adopted parents cared to think about. Then meeting "Mr. Right" at 16 & never looking back. (ok, well only sometimes looking back, it has been 17 years after all, yikes)

I am the girl walking down the isle at 20, because she wanted to. Finding a path that was not really hers, but still feeling strangly comfortable.

I am the woman whose water broke on her 5th anniversary in the bathroom of a Ruby Tuesday's, then had to sit for a 30 minute car ride to the hospital with dh's best friend (male) patting me on the shoulder telling me I'm doing fine (did I say single male). To finally after 6 hours of slightly drugged labor give birth to a 9 pound baby boy.

I am the woman whose water didn't break, and had to endure a 10 minute ride at 1:45 AM to the hospital (15 we had to drop the Prince off) feeling like I was going to die, to be handed a specimin cup & a gown. Watching the PA stare at me with a deer-in-the-headlights glare & finally having the Dr. show up & say ok push, giving birth to a "veiled" 8 pound 11 oz baby girl (for those keeping up that would be 20 minutes tops at the hospital) "Veiled" meaning she delivered with the placenta, don't ask me I was in too much pain to care. Did I mention they still charged me full price...

I am the woman who MADE her husband go get fixed, because I did not want to have to check into the hospital a week before my due date, just so I could be there & avoid a home birth.

I am the woman who still has no idea what she wants to be when she grows up. But I do know that I want to be the best Mom I can be, so at least I have goals!!!

How cool! I always wanted to see a baby born in a veil, or caul as they used to call it. Neat writing too.

Thanks for playing!

I guess we all have birth stories, mine were the opposite, very long ending in c-sections.

I have one up too!

Thanks!

I kind of got the idea that my kids were hyper even in-utero... They don't like waiting, or slowing down...

You too, huh? I was at the hospital 15 minutes before my first and only 5 minutes before my second. And THAT was ENOUGH! Definitely didn't want a home birth either. ... Enjoyed your post.
