The silence...

Can you hear the crickets chirping...
My poor lonely sewing machine. The only thing I have sewn on her is a wrist cuff for my brother so his jacket wouldn't interfere with his bow string during deer/bow season. I still have to change the needles on my serger.

I really need to get back into my creative mood, I wonder why I'm so tense, I haven't sewn in months, MONTHS people. Hubby wouldn't make it that long without, you know what... I need to go cut some fabric or something!

Sometimes I too let months go by where I don't touch the machine, while my hands are busy knitting, hand embroidering, making cards, etc. Yet, around this time of year, I am always wooed back. Right now, I am making curtains for my dining room. As soon as I sit down in front of the machine, it feels like home.

We relocated 8 months ago and I haven't been able to get myself in the mood to create. I made one bag for a cancer patient and that was it until 2 days ago. My mom & sister came into town and we went to a quilt store. I bought a new bag pattern and some fabric and got busy. Now I just need to sew the handles on it and I'll be done. I want to make a couple more just like it while it's fresh in my mind, but instead I'm sitting at the computer. Still not really in the creative mood. We'll get there!
